For centuries "Taj Mahal" is India's exclusive source of pride and joy. It's magnificent architecture has mesmerized people across the globe. We too have presented this tombstone to the world's who's who to seek their approbation. It is really commendable, that the Mughal Emperor Shahjahan envisioned and accomplished this epic structure without the accessibility of modern technology. TAJ is just one of the example of exemplary and courageous vision and creativity. The first Chinese King Qin Shihuang also put up "The Great Wall" in BC 220-206, which can be seen from moon. The Italians built Colosseum in 70-80 AD. The Mexicans built Chichen Itza in 600 AD. From time to time, many other iconic structures have come up around the world and each one of these creation, glorifies some faith or community. In India, Mughal dynasty conceived and built several gigantic and laudable structures of eminence and magnificence.

Although, India is pre-dominantly a Hindu state, so far little is done to represent the origin and transformation of Hindu cult. Taking inspiration from others, something must be done to showcase Hindu Culture, Faith and Philosophy. An institution, which can represent "Hinduism" in entirety, is the need of the time. Such an institution will not only be structurally iconic, but shall also help to promote and conserve Hindu ethnicity for centuries to come. Besides, such an institution can also offer invaluable community services.

Any reference to Hinduism is incomplete without the mention of the supreme and most revered Hindu Divinity, "Lord Shiva". A multifaceted institution dedicated to "Lord Shiva" as central theme can very well present our legendary and mythological heritage and religious faith. Therefore, a "Hindu Temple complex" in the centre (e.g. Nagpur Region) of the country with a exhilarating 621 feet tall standing statue of "Lord Shiva" can plug the void. So far the claim for the highest statue in the world goes to 128 M (420 feet) tall standing Buddha statue in Spring Temple, China.

The proposed temple complex can be built on eleven hundred acres (4x4 km) of square piece of land. The proposed temple complex will be an integrated cluster of most modern multi-layered vastu compliant structures, divided in twenty one independent circles. The temple complex along with 621 Feet high statue will also house over 400 temples of all other important Hindu Deities, Indological Research Centre, Multifaith Library, Education Centres, Yoga Centres, Astrology and Astronomy Centre, Several Seminar and Conference Rooms varying capacities, Audio Visual Theatre, Home for Children, House for Differently Abled Persons, Old Age Home for 25000 persons, Dharamshalas, Guest Houses, Rest Houses, Hotels, Restaurants, Banks, Post Office, Health Facilities, Shopping Centre, Multiple Gardens, Herbal Plantations, Vegetable Farms, Fruit Gardens, Dairy Facilities, Staff Residences and space for all other services generally required. The Temple Complex will be interconnected through multi-layered circular water canals with 2,000 moving gondolas. This will give the entire complex "VENICE" like appearance.

*401 Temples in Circle - The second circle will provide space for four hundred one spacious and archaeologically spectacular Hindu Temples of all the important Hindu Deities.

** Circle of Utility and Research Institutions - The twelth circle will provide space for several Seminar and Conference Halls of different capacities, Exhibition Buildings, Multiple Libraries, Indological Institutes, Learning Institutions, Astronomy and Astrology Centres and Theological Research Centre, Audio Visual Theatre, Open and Closed Theatres, Shopping Centres, Restaurants and Hotels.

*** Social and Community Commitments Centres - The eighteenth  circle will accommodate institutions like, Home for Children, House for Differently Abled Persons, Old Age Home for 25000 persons, Guest Houses, Rest Houses, Hotels, Restaurants, Banks, Post Office, Health Facilities, Shopping Centre, Herbal Plantations, Vegetable Farms, Fruit Gardens, Dairy Facilities, Staff Residences and space all other services generally required.

****Integrated Multi Layer Canal System - The fourth, tenth and sixteenth circle in the Complex will provide navigation facility for more than seven to ten thousand Gondolas or vaparotas exactly like in the Heaven of  Europe, "The Venice". The integrated multi layer canal system will have flowing water entering from one side and discharged from the other end. This will give the entire complex freshness and add to the picturesque exquisiteness.

*****Multiple Green Circles - The charm of the Shivapuram will further get multiplied by green areas in second, eighth, fourteenth and twentieth circles. The circles will hold lawns, flower gardens, vegetables farms, fruit orchards and utility trees like mango, neem, coconut etc.

The project will be spread over an area of 4 X 4 Km (16 Sq. K. M.) of land. Project can be located in any part of the country, which has good infrastructure in terms of air, rail and road transport connectivity. Nearness with regular flowing water source will also be a prerequisite for site selection. Kota in Rajasthan, Haridwar in Uttarakhand, Patna in Bihar, coastal areas of Gujarat, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Odisha are the potential locations. Nagpur being centre of the country can also be considered. However, the final choice of place the project will depend on the support offered by the concerned State Government and approvals from the Central Government.

The investment required for the project can be collected initially through donations from corporate, individual and existing temples. Thereafter further funds can be raised through offering space and sponsorships etc. Bridging loans from banks and business houses can also help temporarily. For financing community sharing and participation principles will be stressed. Development of utilities and service sections can be planned on BOT / Auction basis. It is expected that, the project shall generate substantial revenue through temple offerings, rentals, entry tickets etc. to make it commercially and economically viable. Project is also expected to generate substantial cash surplus annually.

Once the project is accepted and approved by core donors and the Government, it can be completed in about five to six years. However, soft launch is possible in two years.

It is anticipated that over hundred thousand visitors from India and abroad will enter this complex every day for different reasoning. Primarily they will be tourists, holiday makers, guest of twenty five thousand old age home occupants , patients for treatment in hospitals, school children on annual trip, astrologers, researchers, exhibition visitors etc.   The venue will be ideal location for holding destination marriage ceremonies, family functions, business conferences, festival celebrations of different deities e.g. Ramnavami, Durga Puja, Janmashtmi, Shivraatri etc. etc. The list is never ending. The above mentioned number of visitors is conservatively estimated.

Project in its development stage will need about five thousand unskilled labours and one thousand skilled labours. Besides a team of five hundred qualified and semi qualified personnel will be needed to handle the construction activities. This includes Architects, Engineers, support staff etc.

The need for such an Institution need not be emphasised, as we all know in our hearts, what a wonderful institution this "Temple Complex" would be to project our magnificent cultural legacy. Today, we are also resource rich and have the best of technology, supporting materials and machines to envision something spectacular like this and also make that a reality. The uniqueness of "The Temple Complex" will get it phenomenal footfall through out the year from within India and every other corner of the world. Hindu festivals occurring through out the year will also ensure regular footfall as these will be the special occasions of celebration and festivities. Undoubtedly, with all the ingenious and resourceful features within the Temple Complex it will be a strong claimant for the title of "The Eighth Wonder of the World".
